Come and See

A few years after giving my heart in surrender to the Lord’s plan for my life, I received an invitation from a friend to attend a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting along with her.  It was here in this circle of women that God would show me what it meant to step into a calling to lead other women into a life that glorifies Him.  They invited me simply as I was and didn’t require for me to get my act together first before proceeding.  It was here I would see women who loved God, who loved to be in His word together, and who loved others.  They invited me into their lives to come and see more of Jesus.

It would be in this circle of women that I would begin to pray for a heart that loved his Word.  At that time I often shuffled back again and again to the table of contents in my Bible to simply find the passages they were reading.  It would be within this circle that I would pray aloud for this first time ever, stumbling through and fretting if anything I said was making sense.  Within this circle I would sit with tears falling down my face as I listened to women share their stories full of hardship and brokenness and the tender moment Jesus came in to redeem, restore, and transform.  Here I would learn how to share my own salvation story, even as it was still unfolding before me.

An invitation is a beautiful thing to receive isn’t it?  It speaks that someone has thought of you and loved you enough to want to share in a special occasion or experience with you.

In John 1 we see Jesus give an invitation to those that would become his first disciples.

John 1:38-39 Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?”  They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?:” He said to them, “Come and see.”

John 1:43 The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

Another invitation to come alongside of Jesus, to come and see, to live life beside of Him, to spend time with Him.  And in verse 46, we see Philip extends the invitation to “come and see” to Nathanael.

Jesus invited the most unlikely individuals into HIs circle to follow Him, to learn alongside of Him, to watch as He the Messiah lived a life not to be served but to serve.  And as they followed and saw, they were changed in a way that propelled them to then go and tell others about Jesus.

Seasons Ministry was created to simply invite more women into the circle of faith, to come and see more of Jesus.  Our desire is to join together with you in order to praise God for His faithful love and to open His word in order to get to know Him even more.

Sweet sister, the invitation is here…Will you Come & See?
